PAGE 107
Rick Halford, former Alaska state legislator and senator
On p. 107 of GR, Sarah is speaking about her friend, Rick Halford, who was so instrumental in persuading her to run for Governor of Alaska. On the previous page his famous remark about DAVID and the FIVE STONES was cited.
On this page, the Governor writes as follows, "Rick wasn't an establishment Republican in the derogatory sense of the term, but he was definitely influential in the mainstream party.
"And he was the only person like that--a quasi-insider, who reached out and encouraged me to run. I considered Rick's encouragement to run for governor as one of those signposts on the right road."
Behold the wisdom contained in just these few lines--and also a theme for our prayers in these troubled times!!
She makes a DISTINCTION: Not all "insiders" are necessarily and completely evil; the word "establishment" can bear a non-derogatory sense and connotation--at least occasionally!! There are a few "good guys" too in the "establishment," and one of them, at least, was Sarah's friend.
Note too how she was HUMBLY LOOKING OUT FOR THE LORD'S WILL by watching for "signposts" of guidance along her path.
The conclusion, IMHO, is that we should be ardently praying right now that, IF, IF it be the Will of Heaven that she run for POTUS for 2016, the Good Lord may give her a "signpost" and RAISE UP A SECOND RICK HALFORD, someone with ties to the GOP "hierarchy" who is not totally corrupt, and may have the guts, the cojones, the love of country to reach out to her and encourage her to run for President!!
